why my calendar won't transfer to new phone

I'm trying to transfer all calendar data from old iPhone XS to my new iPhone 12pro,

When I backed up my phone to the iPhone 12 everything synced perfectly and then all information from the calendar just erased 5 minutes after backing up. This happened twice now. I have tried to retrieve through iCloud but I'm not having much luck.. can someone please help!?
