Hi all,
In order to make my apps run on my new M1 macbook pro, it says i need to install Rosetta. However, when i click install, i get the message: "This download is not allowed on your system".
Any one knows what I should do?
Cheers,
Hannes
Did you look in your Utilities folder ?
What specific app are you talking about here?
Is this a generic warning or you are dead in the water(?) please advise.
Rosetta 2 works with Intel-based apps distributed through the Mac App Store, and desktop applications downloaded and installed from external sources.
To the user, Rosetta is mostly transparent. If an executable contains only Intel instructions, macOS automatically launches Rosetta and begins the translation process.
Command i opens the information pane:

My understanding when launching any Mac apps for the first time on Apple Silicon Macs, the apps will bounce in the dock for approximately 20 seconds while the Rosetta 2 translation process is completed, with all subsequent launches being fast.
This would apply for example: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive, etc
