Control Center Volume Adjustment Menu Changing Audio Balance

When connecting AirPods Pro to my Mac, the audio is working fine. However, when I attempt to change the volume up or down using the control centre slider, it somehow changes the audio balance to the right. If I use the Touch Bar volume adjustment or even the volume slider in the sound preferences it maintains balance. As soon as I change using the slider below, the balance changes as shown further down.
