Large amount of storage space I do not know how to delete
Hi,
In order to install Mac Big Sur I need 27GB of free space on my mac. As you can see in the attached image I currently only have 8.47GB of free space.
The majority of the space is being taken by the 'Other' category - 48GB. I have looked up how to delete 'Other' but there is no definitive answer, and some websites advise against it as it can break the OS.
I also have a large amount used up in 'Documents' - 23.9GB - but then clicking into 'Documents', I can see the sum of all the folders is only around 6GB - so how do I delete any of the other 17.9GB? (see image)
Can anyone help with this? I either need to delete around 20GB of data, or work out which 20GB I can move to an external hard drive, either option is fine, but right now I don't know what I can do.
