Desktop Icons
why cant I move my desktop icons - they just spring back again - this just happened this morning and I cannot find a fix

You likely have one of the sorting options turned on, which forces the icons to stay in order based on which option is selected. To fix this, right click on an empty space on your desktop (not an icon), hover your mouse over "Sort By" and choose "None". Then, I would recommend enabling the "Snap to grid" option under the same sort by menu if you haven't already. It keeps your icons lined up with each other.
