So I have had this phone for 3 days and I’ve had in in a apple leather case since day one. I normally keep my phones in my front pocket yet today I pull my phone out to see this carnage..
I've never had a phone in 20 years that I broke and I usually keep my phones for 2 years with the last one being the XS Max.
Not sure what to do at this point but this absolutely sucks.

Contact Apple Support directly; they will be able to better determine whether this may be due to a defect covered under your one year warranty:

If they do not feel it occurred due to a covered defect, if you have accident coverage as part of AppleCare+, this will count as one of your incidents for a $99 fee.
If not, the replacement cost will be $599:
