Cannot answer calls on iPhone 12 mini when cover is on and phone is locked

When you say that you can't do it when the "cover" is on, can you explain this a bit more? What type of cover are you using?

You also mentioned when the iPhone is locked. Do you mean that you never receive a notification for a call or that your phone is unresponsive and you're unable to answer?
