MacOS Music Equalizer still not working

While using my iMac (2014), there's a problem with EQ.

In the past, I'd open Music, choose a song, and it would play my chosen Equalizer setting - automatically. Now, however, the song opens without Equalizer. I've rebooted, performed a VRAM reset, and contacted Support. No success.

This issue seems to be related to an ongoing problem on an archived post. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250721894?login=true

The only "fix" so far is to leave Music "on" with my preferred EQ setting.

Finally, a solution.

After reading a 9to5 Mac post, I realized the problem: the macOS Equalizer may shut off if the Gain is above 0 db; that's to reduce the chance of distortion.

If you keep your music well below 0 db, there don't be a problem with the Equalizer shutting off.

An Apple Supervisor and I spend over an hour trying to iron out this problem with Equalizer. The main problem was that Apple's screen share application can't "hear" my music.

The Supervisor helped set up a new Music library...but after that, the new library can't distinguish between tracks with or without EQ.

Does anybody know what's going on here?
