Quicktime for Big Sur

In the Downloads Folder:

It is probably in your Web Browser's Downloads Folder. But do not use it, as it would likely be malware or spyware, being there I no Quicktime Player for Big Sur

Locate the Downloads Folder:

1. Open: Safari
2. Click: File menu
3. Select: Preferences
4. Select: General tab
5. View: File Download Location (First drop-down menu up-from bottom)

QuickTime Player is located in your Applications folder. There is no downloadable QuickTime for macOS Big Sur. Alternatively, you can click on the LaunchPad in the Dock, locate the Other collection, select it and QuickTime Player is in there.

Of course there is.

Is it not in your Applications folder? Look for quicktime player. I launched it and then closed the open dialog box and in the file menu I have 3 options New Movie Recording, New Audio Recording, and New Screen Recording. Let us know if you don't have the app.

There are bugs installed, and they are still working on it.*** So, I’m keep off of it for now, and am using it on my VMs.

QuickTime Player on a VM:

If you want to use QuickTime Player on your Mac, then do so using a Virtual Machine (VM), Being there is no solution for this, consider using QuickTime Player on a Virtual Machine(VM). VMs run Windows-in-a-window. You would open QuickTime on the Windows VM. All would be accessed and would operate as desired on the VM. Virtual Machine applications include VMWare Fusion and Parallels. Learn more here: What Is a Virtual Machine? - VMWare Support.

The icon has changed a little from the previous versions. Try Applications > Quicktime Player

Until they come out with the BigSur version you can always send it to media encoder and export as mp4

I have no idea what you think you are explaining. Big Sur comes with QuickTime Player pre-installed. There's no need for VMs or Windows.
