A couple of other possibilities, because your question is pretty vague....


If you mean how to hide the sidebar in the mail app in landscape mode, you can’t. If you mean how do you hide the sidebar in Safari in landscape mode, tap the blue bookmark icon at the top to get rid of the sidebar.


If you are talking about the sidebar in another app, you need to be specific.

Hi dznman1,


I assume you mean the sidebar in the Home Screen in the iPad.


Assuming you are running the latest OS, this is what you should do:


Scroll down on the sidebar, and press the edit button at the bottom. Then just uncheck the option at the top that says Keep on Home Screen.


Once you’ve done that, then when you swipe right on the Home Screen, the sidebar will disappear. Swiping left will bring it back temporarily.
