New Facebook has been causing headaches for my Mac!

Since they updated Facebook, I've been having problems with it on my Mac. My Mac is becoming slow when using this social networking site, and sometimes it is not responding at all. I have to reload the page multiple times. For example, I have to try really hard in order to see the notifications, and sometimes a message is coming up, telling me along the lines like 'this application is using considerable RAM and should be closed'. I don't usually have problems with other sites like Youtube or Linked in, or apps like Final Cut Pro. My main browser is Safari 13.1.2, which I updated on 16 July 2020. Also, new Facebook is working fine on my Galaxy smartphone.

I have found out that there's no Facebook app for Macs. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? It's very annoying.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.


Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
