Since Dr. Cleaner app is banned, what should we do?

Hello,

I just used Dr. Cleaner on my laptop since i have it for years, and it freed up almost 150 gb of cache data.

I thought it would be a good idea to open clean my mac on my desktop that i have for 4 years.

Unfortunately I found I had deleted the app, and i started looking to download Dr. Cleaner with no success. I read on this community that the application has been doing some work behind its users and it has been banned, and also that most cleaner apps do mess with the system.

I would like to ask you, is it recommended to clean up caches or other files?

If so, is there a detailed manual way to do it ?

or a recommended software that would work the way the user is expecting it to work?

Thank you so much

In addition to @Kurt Lang's excellent option most web browsers have a setting to clear the browser cache. How you do this varies slightly between the various browsers.

Otherwise just use your system normally and reboot it once in a while. I recommend rebooting a computer once a week or at least once a month so it becomes an easily remembered routine (1st or last day of the week or month).
