How can I retrieve old messages? It keeps saying message indexing and I attempted to turn on the messages button in the icloud section of setting but it says I have to approve my icloud from another device. The only problem is I do not have another device associated with this icloud name

Per - Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support.
