Problem with brightness

My iPhone 6S screen is dark. So I can barely see to put in my passcode. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I guess that you've gone to the Control Center and adjusted the brightness, correct? Otherwise, start here:

Get help with the display on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If no help, have it checked:

Yes, I tried that solution. The problem is that the brightness control is not reacting at all. Tried rebooting and even hard factory reset. I have an appointment to have a tech look at it. Unfortunately, the earliest appointment is 7 days from now!!
