Start-page background images are broken

. The example is from supplied images, although I have tried my own images in in multiple formats from multiple locations all produce the same result.

It will load a clean image in safe-mode. that being said, only the original images will load clean, any custom image (even system desktop images) fails to load entirely.

(probably to be expected inside safe-mode)


Took off all safari's extensions and re-booted to normal start-up...


still loading broken images. clearing the extensions did not help, no did clearing the cache.

If you haven’t already, make sure your Mac and Safari are up to date:


How to update the software on your Mac

Update or reinstall Safari for your computer


If the issue continues, clear Safari history and then quit the app. Press and hold the left Shift key while opening Safari back up and see if the issue continues. 


If it does, open a private browsing window in Safari and try again.
