Hi,
The Brother MFC-9330CDW is mentioned in the article About AirPrint - Apple Support as a printer supporting the driverless AirPrint technology. Therefore, the printer should work in macOS Big Sur without the need for separate drivers. Make sure that AirPrint is chosen when adding a printer. It may not be a bad idea to reset the printing system first.

Hi,
There are many printers with macOS Big Sur compatible drivers.
Do you have a printer that does not work after an operating system upgrade/update? If so, which make and model?
If you are interested in a new printer, the models mentioned in About AirPrint - Apple Support support the driverless AirPrint technology, and can thus be used without drivers. AirPrint printers are compatible with macOS. Drivers/software from the printer manufacturer may add functionality.
Hello,
This means that you have downloaded an old printer driver for Mac OS 9. For Mac OS X, there was a Classic environment that would allow Mac OS 9 applications to run (but not after Mac OS X 10.4).
The problem is finding a printer driver that works with Big Sur. The latest driver on the HP support page appears to be for Mac OS X 10.6 (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-psc-1350-1340-all-in-one-printer-series/306884/model/306889). Which operating system version did you use before Big Sur?
To begin with, reset the printing system (see link below).
If nothing else helps, you may want to check whether the (Dec 11, 2020) updated HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for macOS package download from Apple at https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US would work. Verify that your printer is recognised. Is there an appropriate driver to use (perhaps something like the HP PSC 1300 series 2.0.5, or another similar HP printer)? Look upon this as an experiment. It may not work. There is always a certain risk involved with an experiment. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out. Data may be lost. A hardware problem is unlikely, but it is impossible to guarantee anything. Make sure that you have backup copies of important files before you start.

The "experiment" is in fact files from HP in a package delivered by Apple. The package was updated because of problems with revoked certificates during the autumn 2020. One would download and open the .dmg file first. However, I do not know whether the package inside actually contains a suitable driver for your printer, nor whether such a file (if present) would work under Big Sur. Once your printer has been recognised by the system, you will have to look for a driver to use (and possibly choose a driver for another printer model). That is why I refer to it as an experiment. You must know what you are doing and what to expect. If it does not work, you could uninstall/remove the files. It is always wise to keep backup copies of important files on at least two other drives.
EDIT: Just noticed that you had posted while I was composing/editing my message.
Good news! Glad to hear that it worked.
Please read the following user tip and restate your question/problem in detail:

Both printers are now working. I had to go thru removing and then reinstalling " air print ".
Thank you.
Hello,
Which exact Canon PIXMA model is it? Also, which HP model are you looking at?
Hi,
First of all, you may want to post back with the existing printer make and model. Someone may have a solution.
Otherwise, a general advice would be to look for an AirPrint (a driverless technology) printer.
About AirPrint - Apple Support
The exact type of printer depends on what you want to use it for. For documents, a monochrome laser printer could be the best choice, while the photographer may need a colour inkjet photo printer. Others would prefer an all-in-one printer with a scanner (and possibly even fax capabilities).
I have 2 Network attached printers that were working fine until new software upgrade from Apple (Mac OS Big Sur) 11.1. Both have the same issues with " printing". Must be OS since they were working fine.
Printers are :Brother MFC-9330CDW
and Canon MF632C-634C.
It looks like Canon has update on drivers I can not download and Brother drivers are from 2019.
Do you mean Canon MF632Cdw, or Canon MF634Cdw? If so, these models are also in the aforementioned AirPrint list. In that case, no separate drivers should be needed. However, drivers/software from the printer manufacturer may add functionality.

I have a similar problem. My cannon Pixma won’t work and the message I got from Cannon was that they no longer support that model. I don’t print that much. I’m looking at an HP but I don’t see if it supports the new operating system. What printers will work?
Hi,
I can't use my printer HP PSC 1350 all in one anymore since I installed Big Sur.
After uninstalling the HP driver, I tried to reinstall the driver as instructed, but I get this :
De app 1300_731_NL.smi 2 kan niet worden geopend, omdat de Classic-omgeving niet langer wordt ondersteund.
which means in dutch that it is no longer supported?
Does that mean I can't use this printer anymore now and have to buy a new one?
Hello again and thank you for your reply,
I did have this problem already with the former update Mojave(?) and was hoping it would work again after Big Sur installation.
The work around that was on the HP support site, was to uninstall and reinstall the latest driver. So I did the uninstall, so no driver for the moment on my Mac.
The driver you mentioned is the one I tried.
So the experiment is the last option I can try?
Drat missed a word...it’s about time that APPLE makes a fully compatible Printer/Scanner(Copier
You're welcome! Glad to hear that the printers are working.
Kind regards,
Jan
