Camera defaulting to 2x for photos

I am also having this problem where my camera flashes the regular 1x setting when I open it but quickly defaults to 2x. I can't get .5 setting at all anymore. I have had the phone since February, and it was fine for months—this is only in the last month that it's been happening. Please help.
