I take my phone in the shower for music, then I get out and like normal the speakers are clogged. But not for music listening, it’s whenever I FaceTime someone now it sounds like an airplane on their end but normal on my end. Any ideas?

Update: I have managed to fix this issue by letting the phone dry out with the SIM card out, etc. It’s seem to have fixed it for the most part
It’s only in the microphone itself, not in the speaker. Is there a way to get it out myself?
No iPhone is waterproof and no where does Apple say they are.

Water damage can't be repaired and the device must be replaced.
That's great to hear.
Note however that the phone interior has liquid contact indicators that may have been triggered that may effect whether Apple will cover any future issues under warranty.
But really, if you have no further issues, it's nothing to worry about.

You can try letting it dry to see if it restores functionality, but I wouldn't expect it to work.
I’ll just stick it in rice over night to see if it dries out I guess. It’s ridiculous, all my phones since the 5s I’ve taken in water with no issues and the 12 is the first to have an issue
If you've done that you've been spectacularly lucky, as no iPhone has been warranted to survive in a shower.
How much would it cost for apple to fix this, any clue?
