My MacBook Pro 13" 2015 is warped. I have been reading that part of the problem can be a warped battery. It has been like this for a while now. It will be 6 years old in a few months. Is it time to purchase a new computer. I'm afraid of the battery exploding or catching fire. I use it mostly with a monitor and an external keyboard and mouse. I very rarely use it as a laptop. Only on very few occasions. Looking for some guidance.

Yes unless the computer the computer has been in an accident severe enough to bend the metal case, that indicates a swelling battery
It has been like this for a while now.
Depending on how long "a while" is, the computer may already be damaged beyond practical repair.
