Verizon is billing me for my iPhone, but I bought it through Apple

Just wondering if anyone else had this problem. I’m using my Apple Card monthly installments to pay for my new iPhone 12. I just got the phone and have had it less than a month.

The phone is also showing up on the Verizon bill as an installment, but with different amounts already being paid and still owed (and off by hundreds of dollars.) My Apple installment shows about $50 paid and $900 owed, but the Verizon bill shows $300 paid and $650 owed.

It’s the same phone/color/storage capacity/cost, but nobody else on the bill has an iPhone.

Any insight on similar situations would be appreciated!

*Please, before you tell me to contact Verizon, know that I am not the account holder for the plan there.*

The account holder informed me of this billing issue and is in no hurry to look into it at the moment. Seems to bother me more than him! Verizon won’t discuss the details with me.

Sounds like you or someone on Verizon account had an older phone they have entered into a EIP contract.

This is common as most carriers will put you into a 24 month installment and bill credit plan in order to have you buy the phone thru them.

I had this happen and just paid off the old phone (last year's 11 iPhone) and now I can sell it to who ever I want.

What you should do is ask the account holder to check which line has the installment plan from last year.
