Downloaded free VPN

Received msg from Apple (I thought) about a virus on my iPhone. Downloaded free VPN. Then I deleted the app. Did I create a big problem? I realized it’s a scam.

Critical threat VPN scam Earlier today I fell for a phishing scam. A pop up appeared on my safari saying that I needed to download a VPN app to stop my IP address being leaked. I followed the link which took me to the Apple store and I downloaded the VPN app. But as soon as I downloaded I realised this was a bit fishy so I didn’t go on the app and deleted it immediately. Has my phone been hacked by this phishing scam?

So long as you didn't subscribe to anything and the VPN you downloaded came from the App Store and did not ask you to install a management profile, you should be fine.
