There is no issue.

Rosetta is a translation process that allows users to run apps that contain x86_64 instructions on Apple silicon.

Yes Windows will run on Virtual Machine.

Big Sur—Microsoft recently announced that it was officially ending

support for Office 2016 for Mac on October 13, 2020. Apple Silicon compatibility in Office 2016 is questionable.

The pre-existing Virtual Machines are NOT supported at this writing. Parallels has a beta Virtual machine environment available, but standard x86Windows will NOT execute in their Beta virtual machine at this writing.

Any 'ordinary' software that runs under Big Sur runs on Big Sur on Apple-Silicon, by using Rosetta-2 emulation, EXCEPT:

software that requires Virtualization instructions, does not currently work, including:

Windows

Parallels

VMWare

Virtual Box

Docker

Android development emulation

Thank you for this answer. I found out by calling the seller of my new MacBookPro 13" M1 16GB 512SSD. I use a lot of Adobe products and also different kind of DAW's (mostly Cubase) and CAD like software.. I know i am gonna be cursing a lot the next few months.

But i am very exited to try the new processor. It's a Unknown Pleasure...
