Music stops after one song

On Big Sur, using remote and music v1.1.1.3, I keep finding that my playlists play only one song.

This may be to do with a ‘download error’, which appears to block the download queue until I resume downloads - and then the problem seems to go away.

sometimes, with Yamaha smart speakers, which always make music complain that there are no speakers attached (to the speakers) dismissing their alert helps. Likewise a similar alert about Cambridge Audio net player can cause a stall.

I have opened support issues with all three companies, and have been met with inanely blank responses leading to silence from all three.

... Nor does it explain the two day hang of the Music app, nor the fact that the entire Airplay network flips around like a dying fish. I'm really wondering why Apple attempts to fob off this broken system anymore.

If Apple really cared, then at least they would provide some form of diagnostic software to help explain what is happening. The rest of the Bonjour network is as happy as Larry. The network itself is strong, well-connected, and stable.

@ed2345, that's interesting. I'm not sure how it helps with the remote App - but I will look out for that.

I don't think that it resolves the 'no speakers' alerts from the Yamaha MusicCast speakers, or the CA player always appearing as CXNv2 on Airplay, or the computer volume control vanishing if I have default audio output to my bluetooth speakers! It also doesn't explain why Apple would drop an open support ticket without response, or why Yamaha or Cambridge Audio would do the same.
