Just recieved new iphone but the old one still ribgs with the number

What is the new phone? If it is an iPhone 12 series contact your carrier and ask for a new SIM and transfer your number to it.

If it is any other model take the SIM out of the old phone and put it in the new phone.

It should be comforting to get 2 answers to an issue, and they agree 😏

Then you still have the sim in the old phone and you have not ported your number over to the new phone. If you got any phone other than iPhone 12, I would say move the sim card out of the old phone to the new phone. If you got iPhone 12, it came with a sim card, which is provisioned for 5g and you can call your cell phone provider and have them activate the number on your new phone.
