Safari uses a lot of memory 800+ MB
and gmail is taking more than 1GB of memory
I have a 16 inch MacBook Pro 8C I9 32GB RAM 5500M 8GB GPU
safari is meant to be efficient and not use memory more than chrome
and I get the warning about a tab is using a lot of memory so often its frustrating
like I have 32GB ram its enough to run more than 10 tabs

it helps yeah I've used opera for a long time, but since I have everything on safari its hard to get used to a new browser
im not a big fan of Microsoft edge, tbh I'm not mad coz its using a lot of memory I have plenty but its using it for some basic tabs like gmail that takes 1.5GB of ram or a google search that takes 500mb

I have that exact same issue as well. I found using Opera or Microsoft Edge works very well as they are both fast and use little RAM.
