original item cannot be found

original item cannot be found

The most recent photos loaded from my camera are now being shown as "original items cannot be found. Of course a search for the originals cannot be found since they came form the camera. I no longer have items in the camera. What has caused this to occur?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?

A +Managed library+, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing

A +Referenced Library+ is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

The words "managed" or "referenced" are not included in Advanced window. However, I was able to determine what needed to be done by simply checking the "copy items to the photo library". I appreciate the response, but it could have been more clear.

I was having the same problem. Deleted the "Import" Folder and relaunched iPhoto and ALL is great in the world of iPhoto once again. Thanks TD for the help. Don't know what I would do without Apple Discussions Board. Hope this helps someone else too.
