Big Sur Desktop Pictures Folder

What's the point of having 1.13 GB of space occupied in unwanted desktop pictures?

I want to safely reclaim that space

Thank you for your reply

It seems that I cannot request that feedback related to Mac OSX which indeed seems odd. In any case the issue is what is the feature so essential that a simple screensaver picture takes more than 1 gb of data of my hard drive and there is not safe option to delete them.?

It we estimate that a normal Mac OSX installation uses 15 gb ... Almost 10% goes to desktop pictures??

Hey there novelua!

It sounds like you want to delete the contents of the desktop picture folder in macOS. Since Desktop Pictures is a built-in feature in macOS, we would recommend submitting feedback about the feature. You can do so using the link below. We'll also include steps to help you manage the storage space on your Mac as well.
