Beginner with Final Cut Pro - would be thankful for advice :-)

I'm a beginner with Final Cut Pro and would be really thankful for advice :-)

I've starting making yoga videos and editing them in FCPX to upload to my site. The sessions are quite long, so it takes a while for the raw audio and video files to upload from my storage drive into the application.

The titles for the two files appear in my resources list before the little upload pie icon is completed with a tick.

Is it OK for me to synchronchize the audio and video files with the sync command, even before the upload is complete - and import the synced files into y project? Or do I have to wait for the tick?
