After upgrading to Big Sur, can't backup iPhone or unlock with Watch

After I upgraded to Big Sur, my watch will not unlock my MacBook even though it had been working for more than a year. I looked in the settings and the "Use your Apple Watch to unlock apps and your Mac" was turned on. I turned the option off and tried to turn it back on and get an error "Your Mac was unable to communicate with your Apple Watch".

Another issue is that my iPhone does not show up in Finder under locations; it does however show up in Photos and I can download photos to my MacBook.

Seems like some connectivity or security issue was created with the upgrade. Any Thoughts?

I have a MacBook Pro 15 2018 with macOS Big Sur 11.0.1, an iPhone 11 with 14.2.1 and an Apple Watch 4 with 7.1.

Thanks for the help
