How can I completely reset Safari?
In other words, which directory should I delete to get Safari to its original state?

Safari->Preferences->Advanced->check “Show Develop menu in menu bar”. A new menu bar item will appear named “Develop”. From the Develop menu select “Empty Caches”. From the menu bar select Safari and then select Clear History... and then select All History. Only your bookmarks will remain.
There is no directory to delete.
