Can pics be transferred from iPhoto to photo?

I just updated to MacOS Catalina and several of my apps no longer work. I am concerned about one---iphoto. Can pictures in iPhoto be transferred to photo? Thank You. Fudgie

Yes. Launch Photos with the Option key held down, click on Other Library, and choose the iPhoto one.
