iPhone 12 USB socket
I can’t plug my new iPhone 12 into my laptop USB port as it’s the wrong size.
Can you buy adaptors anywhere in New Zealand?
Why spend $35 on a Apple cable when you can spend $5 on an adapter?

If your laptop has the older, large, USB connector, you need a Lightning to USB Cable, such as:
Lightning to USB Cable (1m) - Apple (NZ)
Any electronics store should have them.
