What is the icon in the control center with a square and a sound wave?
Apple Watch Sport
The Series 6, with watchOS 7.1. You know me, always have to get the latest and greatest. Being retired, I have to have something to spend my money on besides my kids. Don't think I'm going to leave them anything. I gotta spend it all before I die.
I'm like you as well, especially with iPhone. I tend to get the new one every year. I'm sure we'll be getting Watch 7 next year, but just haven't found enough reason to have upgraded to 5 or 6 over the 4.
Interesting. It's not in my Control Center for my iPad. Nor is it in my Control Center for iPhone. iPhone mirrors Apple Watch. iPad does not.
But in reading about Announce Message with Siri, it is tied to certain Apple Beats products. I do own a pair of Beats Solo Pro headphones. I'll have to turn them on and see if that icon somehow becomes active when the Solo Pros are active. I'll report back tomorrow.
I'm going to bet this is the connection. I'm about to head to bed, if you can't test this with your Solo's, I'll do so in the morning.
I would not have figured this out if it weren't for Halliday suggesting the icon is in Control Center on their iPad. And reading what that icon is about is tied to Beats Headphones. So I'm convinced that's the connection.
Thank you, lobsterghost1.
I had seen an earlier question on, essentially, this same icon, on an iPhone, but had never seen it on any of my devices, before today.
It was that this question brought up Control Center, so I went ahead and looked at the Control Center settings, and saw the same icon.
It’s one of those “happenstances”, where, being asked the right questions, one looks in the right place, it would seem.
I'll check my AirPods Pro tomorrow as well. I was just getting ready to shut this off and turn in. I don't have Announce Messages turned on for my devices, but I can test that in the morning, since they are ones you can do that with as well.

That is interesting. I've never seen that, and it does not appear on the Watch Control Center icon list. Use Control Center on Apple Watch - Apple Support
Ok, but this icon is on Apple Watch not Iphone.
The one on the bottom left
That appears to be the make yourself available for Walkie Talkie.
OK......And it's also on my watch and I have no idea what it is. It doesn't to anything if tapped, so you've got me?
Now I feel left out. It isn't on my Watch. And like I said above, even Apple does not identify it in their icon list for Control Center.
Which Apple Watch do you own? Mine is Watch 4 with WatchOS 7.
That same icon is available in Control Center for my iPad: on my iPad it’s called Announce Messages with Siri.
