Big Sur 'Mail' Windows and content wider than screen

Hi, since upgrading to Big Sur emails (when replying) are much wider than the screen and can not be dragged smaller. I can go full screen but the email content still continues way off past the right edge of the screen and you can't even scroll to see it.

Any fixes people know of?

Boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down and check there to see if the problem persists.  Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Hi, it only happens with emails associated with one account. I have another account synced from the same source (cpanel webmail) which doesn't have the issue. I can't see any pattern related to the sender, there's more affected than not. I wouldn't know what to look for in the raw source, but I've included a sample from one affected email here. If ou're familiar with these things is it possible you could take a look? Emails redacted.

Hi C,

Hope you are well. During the summer I emailed you about visiting the

centre with a group of children. Due to the present situation we have

decided not to arrange any visits outside of school for the children.

Instead I am wondering if it would be possible to organise something

similar to what would have happened at the centre but do it online?

Would this been something that K would be able to do?

I’m trying to think of alternate ways for the children to get the

experience without having to be in the building!

Thank you and let me know...

Take care

E
