Would a Apple Watch Cellular Work on the Tescos phone network?

I know the cellular watch will work on EE , Vodaphone and O2 and wondered since Tescos use the O2 network would I be able to leave my Phone at home and still make and recieve calls on my watch?

Not according to https://www.apple.com/watch/cellular/

Tesco is not a carrier that supports the Apple watch

Tesco piggyback on the O2 network.

But that doesn't mean O2 is letting Tesco support Apple Watches. NVMO's generally need to negotiate a contract with the carrier they are using to get Apple Watch support.

In the U.S. Comcast Xfinity has done this, but very few other NVMO's have either tried, or succeeded in getting an Apple Watch support contract with the carriers they ride on.

What I said was Tesco piggyback on the tesco net work, meaning that because they use the O2 network that doesn't mean they support the apple watch.

And if you want another example giffgaff also piggyback the O2 network and they don't support the apple watch either.
