I just redeemed a $10 Apple GC and upgraded my storage from 50GB to 200GB it still declined my request for backup why? I don’t know how to find out what model iPad I’m using.

If the device cannot be backed up -- If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support.
