Apple Wallet says card invalid

I had a card in my Apple Wallet from NetSpend Skylight One with no problems. I was contacted by the card issuer to upgrade my account with a new card that is issued by Republic Bank & Trust. I checked and this bank IS accepted by Apple Pay. However, it will not allow me to add it. I continue to try to add it and it says my card is invalid. I also contacted my card issuer and I was told that permission is in place for Apple Pay to accept the card and to contact your end. I’ve never ran into this issue and since I use Apple Pay ALL the time I’m getting frustrated and very, very concerned that it is not being accepted. Also, my iPhone has the most recently updated IOS version.

Hi there dlipford1983,

We can understand the frustration of Apple Wallet saying your card is invalid. We're happy to help you with this. Get started with the steps here to resolve this issue:

If you can't add cards to Wallet to use with Apple Pay

Should this issue persists, especially if you get this alert after entering the CVV, you will need to continue working with the card issuer to resolve this.

We hope this helps you.

Best regards!
