We understand that you're unable to link AppleCare+ to your Apple ID. AppleCare+ is automatically linked if the device was purchased at the same time as AppleCare+ was purchased. You can check your device coverage here: Check Your Service and Support Coverage
If AppleCare+ was purchased after the device, you can try registering AppleCare+ here: My Support
