iPhone 12 Pro Max Home Screen Darkens

My iPhone12 Pro Max Home Screen keeps darkening after turning my phone off. Also my iPhone changes from dark mode to light mode. Is there a fix out there?

Issue appears to be resolved by resetting all settings.

You might have the dark/light mode switched to automatic. Might want to check that in settings.

I checked the setting is off. - no automatic.
