Apple Watch face cracked

I have an Apple Watch 3 cellular and the whole face dropped off with no impact. The Apple store in Norwich have refused to agree that there is a fault. A £529 watch with no other damage should not have the face drop off. The crack propagation looks exactly like the Apple website description but they say the crack goes to the edge??? If glass cracks it will naturally go to an edge? There is NO impact damage.
