Milanese Loop watchband prior to 2018: can it be replaced?

Sliding the magnetic closure through the band connector, or lug is to open the band completely... not to remove the band.

As you know, in 2018 it was redesigned so that the band can be opened completely, by sliding the connector through the lug.


If yours won't fit through the lug then you can't open it completely. It's not made that way.


However, that has absolutely nothing to do with removing the band.

There is a release button on both ends. Remove both ends (lug and all)

"In 2018, the Milanese Loop was redesigned so that you could open the band completely by sliding the magnetic closure through the band connector, or lug. On earlier Milanese Loop models, the closure won't slide through the lug."


In other words, the pre-2018 Milanese Loop must be destroyed to be removed.
