There is a Mute switch on the side of the phone. If the switch is towards the back of the phone and you can see the orange color, it is on Mute. Switch that the other way. If not that, then check Do Not Disturb. If not that, then finally check in Settings>Phone>Silence Unknown Callers. IF this is on, then calls from people not in your Contacts will not ring.
