WiFi greyed out and won’t turn on and Ethernet also doesn’t seem to work
My MacBook Pro mid 2012 model has suddenly disconnected from WiFi. It’s greyed out and won’t turn on. I plugged in an Ethernet and although it has a green activity symbol next to it in system preferences I’m not able to get any internet data or view my Lan.
I can however plug in my iPhone via usb and get some mobile data to browse the internet. That’s the only way I can connect to the cloud.
I have reinstalled from Time machine, removed all anti virus apps, reset PRAM, but nothing seems to work. Worse still I can’t do a hardware diagnostic or boot up in recovery fully because that requires an internet connection - nightmare catch 22.
can anyone suggest a way of finding and fixing the fault? It might be hardware or software.
