No SIM card installed
My new iPhone 12 was supposed to come with SIM card installed. It says none is there? What do I do now? Do I have to visit my carrier?

Unless you chose a specific carrier when you bought the iPhone, it does not come with a sim card.
You have several options:
You can either move the sim card from your previous phone to the new one: link-> Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Setup service directly on the new one using the embedded eSim if your carrier supports it: Using Dual SIM with an eSIM - Apple Support
Or contact your carrier for a new sim from them.
