SMS 5 digit number
Is there a way to use the 5 digit so it won’t add punctuation. The call won’t go through with the hyphen.

The hyphen is just there for display purposes. It is not sent as part of the number to be called/messaged.
If you can't message 5 digit short codes, contact your cellular carrier. That's a carrier feature, not a function of the phone.
