Delete Data from Trade-in

I erased all on my iPhone that I am sending back for trade but unfortunately I didn't erase my personal information first or erase my cards. When I erased all, would it have erased those items? When I pick up the iPhone I am sending back it wants to walk me through setup of the phone so I am assuming it is all gone. Will Apple check this when they get my trade-in?
