HomePods and Dolby Atmos

So I recently bought a new 4KTV, a pair of HomePods and an Apple TV 4K. This TV is a Samsung and it is supposed to support Dolby Atmos. When I plug the Apple TV into the eARC port and go to the sound options for my TV, Dolby Atmos is grayed out. If the TV supports it, and the HomePods and Apple TV do as well, why is this not working?

Hey there, Andivinoweb!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're having an issue with using Dolby Atmos on your Apple TV. Let's start by checking out this article to Play audio in Dolby Atmos or surround sound on your Apple TV. Per the article:

"Apple TV 4K uses a high bandwidth form of Dolby Atmos that doesn’t work over ARC connections."

You'll want to be sure you're using the proper connection for the Dolby Atmos sound.

Let us know if you continue to have an issue and have a terrific day!
