I am trying to import .wav files with edited id3 tags, but the metadata isn't showing in itunes.

There are MANY answers for how to fix this like this one: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5803101. but they are outdated. One suggests this fix:

"I have discovered that if I go into the "properties" in Windows7 for the files that do not work properly in iTunes, there is a field called "encoded with". THis field shows an older version of iTunes. If I just change that to the version of iTunes that I am using to try to import these MP3's today, and then I add the file to the library again, everything appears in iTunes!" Which does not work in windows 10

another suggests :

" you can use Convert ID3 Tag > Noneseveral times followed by Convert ID3 Tag > v2.3 and whatever iTunes knows about the file will be written back to a clean tag. " which does not work on modern itunes.

How do I solve this on an updated itunes on windows 10 in 2020?
