Robo call

I got a call from a number in my area code stating they were from Apple care support and that my iCloud account had been infringed. They led me through a series of steps, stating that this should stop it. Now I feel like I shouldn’t have listened to them that they were hackers. What should I do?

Scam using Apple caller ID I was unfortunately the victim of a scam where I received a call from Apple Inc and the Apple Care number showed up in my phone. The scammers used that caller ID and claimed to be a group from Apple to address a security issue on my network. They used a variety of dummy platforms to seem legit. It was a long convoluted rabbit hole I went down and lost a lot of money. What is the best way to report this and make sure Apple is aware and other users find out? Is this forum the only place for that? I don't believe I have any way to recover my money and not sure a local police report will really do any good, but I want to prevent others from being victims.

Robo calls from Apple Support re iCloud account We have received 4 calls to our home number in the past hour or so claiming a breach of our iCloud account and to go through a menu or call back to a (208) area code number to clear it up. I assume this is phishing and I don't know how Apple would have our home (landline) number, but just checking to see if there is any validity to this.

They were "hackers." If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support describes the steps you should take.
