My 2019 iMac 27" 5k retina display, Intel i9 processor, 2TB SSD drive with Radon image processor has started freezing and automatically restarting on a frequent basis. This makes is distressing to use. What can be done to stop this activity?

Try disconnecting all of your external peripherals that have any type of cable connection to the iMac. Then run the iMac without them and see if it stabilizes. If it does then you know it's one of the peripherals. At that point it is a matter of trial and error until you find the problem peripheral. How to do that is to add 1 peripheral and test extensively. Continue this process until you find the culprit. External peripherals can and do cause KPs.

Your computer is suffering from Kernel Panics. I see it has 64GB of RAM, did you buy that RAM and install it? If so where was the RAM purchased from and what brand of RAM is it?

The RAM came with the computer. So did the internal 2TB SSD. Besides adding various peripherals via HDMI, USB and Ethernet interfaces, I have added an external 2TB drive. It is used exclusively for photos, in their 'raw' and processed by Lightroom forms.
I have disconnected a USB cable with several devices on it. May have helped a little. I note that it restarts automatically even when it's in sleep mode - black screen and no action. Seems to cause a different PANIC. I also note that I haven't added any peripherals since I originally set the computer up about 6 months ago, and they all ran fine on my old Mac. All this started about the same time Catalina updated to 10.15.7.
Obviously all the peripheral trials will take some time. But I'll give it a try tomorrow and perhaps over the next couple of days.
